Barmouth Town Councillors
Councillors are elected to serve a five year term. The last election was in 2022 and thirteen councillors were elected from fifteen candidates. If a Councillor steps down during their five year term then a replacement may be co-opted, or if required an election can be held. Two councillors have been co-opted since the election.The next election to the Town Council is expected to be in May 2027.
All Town Councillors sign an "Acceptance of Office" form and agree to abide by the Code of Conduct. Town Councillors are not paid to serve, they can claim expenses necessary to perform their role and are paid a small annual allowance to cover home expenses.
